Message from Matthew Cooper Project Manager Engineering We’re pleased to report that we are just under halfway through this project, with almost seven kilometres of pipeline installed across the project area. Work has been completed in Tapsell’s Lane, and we are currently working in private land. We’ve been working closely with East Sussex Highways to finalise dates for work on the B2100 (Wadhurst Road and Best Beech Hill), and across the associated side roads, to keep disruption to a minimum, and these are detailed below. Forthcoming road closure dates for October are as follows: Best Beech Hill: Tidebrook Road (at the junction with Best Beech Hill): Best Beech Lane (at the junction with Best Beech Hill): We know the B2100 is a key route in the area, and so we will work under a rolling road closure within the dates specified. This means we’ll be working in short sections along Best Beech Hill and Wadhurst Road and as each part is completed, it will be restored to its original state before we move along the road. We’ll be starting on Best Beech Hill at the junction with Tidebrook Road and Best Beech Lane. These roads will be closed while we work at the junction. Once we’ve completed that section, these roads will reopen and the closure will move along Best Beech Hill, working west along and into Wadhurst Road as far as Buckhurst Lane. Buckhurst Lane and Fairglen Road will be closed for a short duration within the below specified dates at their junction with the B2100 (Wadhurst Road or Best Beech Hill) as the work passes. We can’t be specific about these side road closures as it will depend on progress along the B2100; our teams will be aiming to complete the work as quickly as possible. In addition to the above, we also have works scheduled elsewhere on this project in November: Sleepers Stile Road Sweetings Lane Lower Cousley Wood Lane Work is taking place crossing the junction where these three roads meet, and so there will be no through access. For all works, residents and businesses will be able to access their properties throughout the closures and letters will be sent to residents in these areas to advise of the closures as they approach. Diversion maps are available on our dedicated project webpage: southeastwater.co.uk/wealden, where you’ll also find regular updates. We’re sorry in advance for any disruption this will cause you and your community. We know road closures can be frustrating and so are a last resort but ensuring the safety of the public and our team is a priority. |
