Railways – strike action

Strike action – 1st, 5th & 8th October
Strike action this weekend and next week

Strike action is due to take place on our network on the following dates:

  • Saturday 1 October (between 00.01 and 23.59) – ASLEF, RMT and TSSA
  • Wednesday 5 October (between 00.01 and 23.59) – ASLEF
  • Saturday 8 October (between 00.01 and 23.59) – RMT

Saturday 1 October

There will be no Southeastern services running on the rail network. Please do not attempt to travel by train on this day. For alternative transport options visit traveline.

There are no Thameslink or Southern services running, please visit their websites for more information.

Journey planners will be correct from Tuesday 27 September.

Sunday 2 October

We will be running a special timetable to support the London Marathon and trains will run from London terminals towards Greenwich from around 07.00.

Wednesday 5 October

There will be no Southeastern services running on the rail network. Please do not attempt to travel by train on this day. For alternative transport options visit traveline.

Thursday 6 October

We will be running a normal timetable on this date. Please check before you travel.

 Saturday 8 October

There will be a limited service running on the rail network and some routes will be closed. Please only travel by train if absolutely necessary. If you are travelling expect severe disruption, plan ahead and check your entire journey.

Sunday 9 October

If you are travelling on Sunday 9th our services are unlikely to run until around 07.00 when Network Rail staff begin their shifts.

First trains may be busy, and queueing systems will be in place to manage space on trains, so please plan ahead, check your entire journey and allow extra time.

Refunds and ticketing

Ticket holders can apply for a refund if they do not travel.

If you do travel and were delayed for 15 minutes or more, you are entitled to Delay Repay compensation.
