Update to road closures on our 17km water main project between Bewl Water Treatment works and Rotherfield

Please note that this message comes from the Project Manager of South East Water (not the parish council)

I wanted to update you on our £12.1 million project to connect our water treatment works at Bewl Water with storage tanks near Wadhurst and Rotherfield and provide you with the latest road closure details.

Work is progressing well, and to date, we’ve laid around 2.2 kilometres across the project. We’re currently working on several carriageways in the Wadhurst area, including Three Oaks Lane, Old Station Road, Bewlbridge Lane and Mayfield Lane.

I wanted to let you know about the forthcoming closure, also in the Wadhurst area:

Tapsells Lane – Thursday 29 August to Thursday 19 September

We are also working with East Sussex Highways to confirm the dates for several further closures, including Wadhurst Road and Best Beech Hill, and will notify you of confirmed dates as soon as possible.

We’re sorry in advance for any disruption this will cause you and your community. We know road closures can be frustrating and so are a last resort but ensuring the safety of the public and our team is a priority.

Tapsells Lane will be closed to through traffic only. Please be assured that access to homes and businesses will be maintained. Customers may occasionally have a short wait to access their property if we are working directly outside their entrance while the team make the working area safe to cross.

Further information, diversion routes for closures and the latest project updates can be seen on our website at southeastwater.co.uk/wealden.
