Memory Moments Cafe

Wadhurst Manor Care Home are hosting  an informal cafe for those living with dementia or caring for a loved one.  They will take place on the last Wednesday of the moth.  The next one is on Wednesday 26th September from 2.30-4.30pm and at 3.30pm Debra Skeen will provide music for the brain.

So, go along and met others over light refreshments and enjoy a variety of activities that the home has to offer.

Wadhurst – ‘Over the Top’

On Sunday 11th November 2018 there will be a night of entertainment for all the family, to mark the 100th Anniversary of the end of World War I .  Amongst other contributions, there will be Wadhurst Brass Band, Wadhurst Drama Club, Wadhurst Aloud Community choir, Ukelele Group, WYTkidz and special guests.  It starts at 6.30pm in the Commemoration Hall.  Tickets are available at Carillon Cottage, Southern Cross Travel or on line at www.ticketsource.co.uk

Congratulations to Wadhurst Culture for getting a Big Lottery grant !

Well done to Wadhurst Culture in getting a £10,000 Big Lottery grant to help them create the “When the Oak Spoke” art installation for Spring 2019.  There will be more information shortly on workshops, talks, walks and more for the whole community, working with the artist Beccy McCray.

The next event will be Shinrin Yoku – forest bathing on Saturday 15th September – a chance to walk with with the artists Clare Whistler and Deborah Kelly amongst the trees of Wadhurst.  Places are limited, so please ring Beth on 01892 783911 to book in advance.

Wadhurst History Society

Sussex in the Great War will be the talk on Thursday 20th September given by Ian Everest in the Commemoration Hall.  Doors open at 7.30pm and the talk commences at 8pm.  Bar and light refreshments available. New members are welcome.

Wadhurst Community Cinema

Welcome back to Season 6 with the first film being ‘Victoria & Abdul’, starring Judy Dench .  It is a biographical comedy drama about a relationship between Queen Victoria and her servant, Abdul and was put forward for best actress award at the 75th Golden Globe Awards.
