National Lottery funding from Sport England for community organisations on or near the National Cycle Network

Sport England Together Fund – National Cycle Network Community grants We are delighted to announce National Lottery funding from Sport England for community organisations on or near the National Cycle Network. Grants are now available to improve or enhance the spaces along local paths, run led walks and rides, deliver bike maintenance sessions or to fund ideas for activities that bring people together. The Together Fund is a national programme funded by Sport England who have awarded grant to Sustrans to distribute. Its purpose is to empower community organisations connected to those affected disproportionality by COVID-19 and the associated cost of living crisis to engage in walking, cycling and wheeling. The Together Fund is now open for new applications. Applications will be approved on an ongoing basis. The funding will close on 31st January 2023 and project delivery will need to be completed by 31st March 2023. With the Together Fund, your community organisation could receive: • Led walk and ride training to encourage your community to enjoy your local path • Access to bike maintenance training or equipment • Tools, training or materials for temporary route signage and wayfinding We would also like to hear more about your own ideas of how the funding could be used to get more people out and about on the National Cycle Network.
Why should I apply for the Together Fund?
Many communities are still experiencing the lasting impacts of COVID-19. The Together Fund will help enable you to encourage communities to walk and wheel for their everyday journeys as well as just for fun.
Through this we can improve our physical and mental health, help enhance the environment and increase participation on and awareness of the National Cycle Network with the local community.
Who can apply? The Together Fund will be available to: • Constituted community groups • Registered charities • Social enterprises • Schools • Religious groups • Community family groups • Groups already in receipt of Sport England funding
The four priority audiences include: • Culturally diverse communities • Low socio-economic groups • Disabled people • People with long-term health conditions What support can I apply for through the Together Fund? The Together Fund with Sustrans encourages organisations to submit applications to engage their audiences in walking and wheeling. This funding is available to community organisations who want to deliver projects that benefit people on the National Cycle Network in England. The support you can apply for through the Together Fund includes: • Staff costs • Training costs • Rent/facility hire • Utility costs • IT costs • Insurance Projects supported by the Together Fund will need to be ready to begin delivery within 6 weeks of application. The Together Fund cannot support projects that have already begun and are looking to extend delivery. The maximum amount of funding for a community body in any single phase of Together Fund is £10,000. The average amount of funding received through the Together Fund is £3,500.
