As you know, we are required by local government to carry out mandatory checks for those who wish to become hosts which includes DBS and accommodation checks.
So far we’ve been working hard to get these checks completed and we know they have taken a little time but we are now getting through them more quickly.
We appreciate that many hosts will be very busy or have other pressing matters requiring their attention, however, we will only be able to verify them as a host if we can complete these important checks. So please do ensure that hosts check their spam/junk email folders in case our communications to them have ended up there.
We know many hosts have already completed their checks, and we thank them for doing so, but for those that are still outstanding, we will send them a reminder letter in the post to help them get this completed. We urge them to look out for this letter and ensure they carry out the necessary actions to complete their checks.
If a host knows they still have checks to complete and we can help them in anyway with this process, they can contact us at 📩 ukraine@eastsussex.gov.uk, or call our contact centre on 📞 01273 337010.
We want to thank all hosts for registering their interest, they are doing a great service for the people of Ukraine.
We’ve had some queries about delayed host payments and on many occasions this is due to our emails finding their way into spam/junk folders. If hosts are experiencing delays or awaiting communication from us, please ensure they are checking these folders in their email account as this is usually the cause for delay.
If this is not the case and they have further queries or issues, please contact us on 📩 ukraine@eastsussex.gov.uk
We have been made aware that there are some Ukrainian children enrolled in schools across East Sussex who have returned home to Ukraine.
If your children are not able to attend the school they are enrolled in, you MUST provide the school with details of if/when the family are returning to the UK.
You can contact the school directly to inform them of these changes.
We use this newsletter to bring you updates about how East Sussex and its communities are working with our Ukraine guest. You can unsubscribe at any time.
If you have further questions, you can contact us at ukraine@eastsussex.gov.uk
We wish everyone a great weekend.
